Dr. Elizabeth Zavala is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at the University of Chicago. She provides comprehensive geriatric care in the clinic, hospital, and post acute and long term care setting. Her research focuses on urinary incontinence in older women and reducing disparities among African American and Latina populations. Her research addresses the quality and scope of nursing home education within graduate medical education. A bilingual educator and mentor, Dr. Zavala is deeply engaged in health equity, curriculum development, and national leadership, serving on the PALTMed Representation, Opportunity, and Community Committee.
