Dr. Jennifer Stevens Lapsley is a Professor and Director of the Rehabilitation Science PhD Program and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center. She also serves as Associate Director of Research for the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center at the Eastern Colorado VA Health Care System. She directs the RESTORE Team, a collaborative research group focused on optimizing health span through movement, and she is passionate about mentoring and training the next generation of rehabilitation scientists.
Dr. Stevens Lapsley is a Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association (FAPTA) and leads innovative, evidence-based rehabilitation research for older adults that spans mechanistic studies of muscle physiology to pragmatic clinical trials informed by implementation science. She has authored more than 250 peer reviewed publications, secured 30 million dollars in research funding, and received major national and international research awards and invited speaking engagements.
