Monica Leriger, PharmD, MBA, is a nationally recognized geriatric pharmacist and the Vice President of Clinical Pharmacy at Eventus WholeHealth. With over two decades of experience in long-term care, Monica collaborates directly with medical leadership, prescribers, and interdisciplinary teams to drive medication safety, deprescribing, and quality improvement across skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
A dedicated ASCP member since 1999, Monica has served as the Indiana State Delegate since 2021. She is an active speaker and educator, delivering national and regional presentations on anticholinergic burden, antibiotic stewardship, psychotropic optimization, wound care, and palliative deprescribing. Her work has been featured at ASCP National and Midwest meetings, AMDA, CALTCM, and the Indiana Department of Health.
Monica is the founder of Leriger Consulting LLC, where she develops and implements deprescribing protocols focused on CMS quality measures and medication-related harm. She also serves as adjunct faculty for Butler University and precepts pharmacy students from Purdue and Manchester Universities.
Monica is passionate about aligning medications with goals of care, protecting cognitive function, and supporting the role of consultant pharmacists in improving outcomes. Her vision for the future of pharmacists is driving deprescribing programs and giving the profession a voice in value-based care.
She has visited 49 states with her family and is making plans for number 50. Monica is driven by curiosity, purpose, and a deep commitment to the journey, whether optimizing a med list or planning a vacation.
