Dr. Sabine von Preyss-Friedman, the current PALTmed President, is an Internist and Geriatrician and has practiced in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) since her fellowship at the University of Washington. A Certified Medical Director since 1992, she was named AMDA/PALTmed Medical Director of the Year in 2011 and co-chairs the Drive to Deprescribe initiative, earning the John Gladstone and Choosing Wisely awards. As Chief Medical Officer for Avalon Healthcare and Caldera Care, Associate Clinical Professor Emerita at UW, and Medical Director for several Seattle-area facilities. She champions quality improvement, evidence-based standards, and optimal outcomes for patients in post-acute and long-term care.
